Porto

Short glimpses of Porto

In a quick revisitation of Porto, my father´s hometown, I was able to confirm how fantastic this city is and how good I feel every time I walk about its streets. Even the state of disrepair of some buildings adds up to its peculiar charm.

Noite de S. João (St. John´s night)

Each year, on the 23rd of June, just before sunset, thousands of people start to invade the streets of the old quarters of Porto to celebrate St. John’s night. Men, women and children bump each other’s heads with noisy hammers made of soft plastic.

Music, beer and grilled sardines also play an important part…
