Cancun and Isla Mujeres

It may be overcrowded and uncharacterized by the mass amounts of mojito-and-daiquiri-drinkers and sun-soakers lying around along the beach. However, I must say I never saw a deeper turquoise color than the one I saw in the seas of Cancun and Isla Mujeres. No Photoshop here!

Chichen Itzá

Despite the monumental and strikingly modern-like architecture revealing a high degree of cultural sophistication, we can sense in Chichen Itzá the atmosphere of violence that was present in day-to-day life of their inhabitants.

It’s a pity that sacrifice and blood had once stained this beautiful city but perhaps if it wasn’t for that drive towards violence and the lust for power, that place wouldn’t be more than an ordinary forest village instead of a world heritage wonder. The paradoxes of mankind…
